My name is David Follmann and I worked for Plunkett Furniture, one of the
most prestigious furniture stores in the Chicago land area. I got the bug
for quality furniture but I was always an outdoor person thus

- Where is MyBackyardFurniture.com located?
We are located in DuPage county Illinois and are a specialty ecommerce
company. We do not have a retail store or publish catalogs, these savings we
pass on to you in our prices!
- Is everything kept in stock?
All products are shipped from the manufacturer to your door and although
out-of-stocks are rare, they are unavoidable. Custom made products such as
cushions by nature are made after you have ordered. Custom and out-of-stock
can take up to two weeks longer to be delivered.
ORDERING
- Is there tax on my order?
Local sales tax is required to Illinois residents only.
- Will you match a lower advertised price?
Simply put, there are no lower advertised prices. Shop with the confidence
that you have found the lowest allowable advertised price allowed by our
manufactures. If you find a lower price advertised the manufacturer may
choose to stop doing business with the site you found as they are breaking
the manufacturer's contract. If this happens you cannot go back to their
place of purchase for warranties.
- What payment methods do you accept?
All of our payments are made through PayPal Business Merchant Services. The
most recognized and trusted name for Internet transactions. They accept all
major US credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover).
- Is my information secure?
MyBackyardFurniture.com does not keep your credit card information on file.
We could never hope to be as secure as PayPal so we rely on them to keep
your credit card information secure.
Phishing (pronounced: fishing) is a common practice among thieves to get
your personal information. We want you to know that we will never email you
for your personal information and neither will PayPal.
- When is my credit card charged?
Your credit card is charged when your order is placed. This may be up to two
weeks before you receive your product. The upfront charges are applied for
processing, shipping material costs for all orders including custom options
such as fabrics.
SHIPPING
- How long does it take to ship my order?
Delivery times vary with each order but average 10 days from the day of your
order. A few of our manufacturers are international and will save you more
on the purchase price but cost you on the shipping time, please read the
product description for these manufacturers. International, custom and
out-of-stocks will cause delays and you will be informed of the delays the
next business day of placing your order. Please contact us before placing
orders that will be shipped outside of the country.
- What is the shipping cost?
Shipping is free to all continental United States locations!
MyBackyardFurniture.com is passing its savings on to you so we do not charge
for shipping. We hope to turn your savings and satisfaction into return
customers. Please contact us before placing orders that will be shipped
outside of the country.
- Where will my order ship from?
Our manufactures are mostly from America but we have a few international
manufacturers. Shipping direct saves you the additional cost of shipping to
our location and storage. This savings is then passed on to you! As a
result, our furniture ships from a number of different facilities around the
world. Please contact us before placing orders that will be shipped outside
of the country.
- Can I schedule a shipment for a certain day?
Yes but only for domestic manufacturers. Please contact us before ordering
if you absolutely have to have it delivered on a specific day and we will do
everything we can to ensure our delivery on your schedule.
- Will the delivery man leave my order on the porch when it's delivered?
Packages weighing 70 or less can be shipped by UPS and you can give them
specific instruct where to leave the package and you can choose to wave the
signature. If you choose to wave the signature you accept full
responsibility for the package.
Most of the deliveries are larger packages and ship using common carriers.
It is common practice for these carriers call ahead to arrange delivery to
your home. Someone will need to be at your home at the time of delivery to
sign for the package. It will not be left without a signature.
- Will it come pre-assembled?
Most products ship fully assembled but some items require simple assembly.
Items that frequently require assembly are tables, swings and larger
loungers.
RETURNS
- What if I don't like what I purchased?
Purchasing backyard furniture online can be difficult as you cannot try the
product before purchasing. Your satisfaction is our highest priority and we
are happy to work with you to return or exchange your purchase. Some
manufactures do not accept returns and this is indicated in the product's
description. Custom products are also non-refundable. Please read the
product description's return information before purchasing. When a product
return is authorized you will be responsible for the return shipping.
- What if my order arrives damaged?
Our manufactures have made every effort to package your purchase as secure
as possible however some packages will be unavoidable. We gladly replace all
damaged items and losses due to shipping. You will not be responsible for
any additional costs for the return, replacement or shipping of the
replacement or lost item. You are required to document damages with the
carrier when it arrives. Do not refuse delivery as this will complicate the
return process.
- How do I repackage my return?
- If the package was damaged in shipping.
- As soon as you identify damage to your product, notify the carrier
if he is still there and have them note the damages.
- Photograph the damage to help us better identify the item that needs
to be replaced.
- Call or email us as soon as possible. An email will help you
document your report and allow you to send photos of the damage.
- If the item is simply isn't what you expected.
- Email us as soon as you determine that you do not wish to keep the
furniture you received.
- Prepare your item for return in the same condition or as close to
the same condition as you received it in and secure the box.
- You will receive and RMA, (Return Merchandise Authorization)
number and shipping instructions. Please write your RMA number in large
print on the outside of the box. Please read the Return Information for
complete details as these instructions differ with each manufacturer.
- Keep the package in a safe, secure and dry place, ready to be
picked up by the carrier.
- Your account will be refunded once it has been received and
inspected by the manufacturer.
PRODUCT
- Can it be used outdoors?
Every product sold on MyBackyardFurniture.com is designed for outdoor use.
Our commercial grade products are resin backyard furniture, which will not
fade, peel, crack, or break under the elements. Please read the product
details for specifications on the resin wicker listed by the manufacturer.
These products are not warrantied for wind damage.
- Will it rust?
Every product sold on MyBackyardFurniture.com is designed for outdoor use.
That means framed products such as wicker have aluminum or powder coated
steel frames. Aluminum products do not rust. Wrought iron products have been
coated to avoid rust. Although wrought iron furniture can last several life
times it can rust if the coating is compromised. If you see rust after the
warranty period lightly sand it and reapply the coating.
CUSHIONS
- Can I order replacement cushions?
Yes, each of our manufacturers offers replacement cushions and we make them
available to you at below retail prices. Many of these cushions are common
sizes and will replace cushions on your existing furniture.
